1300 5th St.

Lincoln, IL 62656

The town of Postville was laid out in 1835 and became the first county seat. This was the original location of the town square and location where Abraham Lincoln would play ball with his friends. In 1853 the city of Lincoln was founded and grew so fast by the 1860's that Postville was annexed and ceased to exist as an individual township.
