Like much of Logan County, Latham is a small, close nit, farming community. It was founded in 1871 and named after Robert B. Latham, friend to Abraham Lincoln, railroad official, and one of the original founders of the county seat, Lincoln, IL.
One of Latham's notable residents, pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds (1939-1942) and New York Giants (1947-48), Eugene Earl "Junior" Thompson was born in Latham.
Latham is now known for its the one of a kind, Korn Krib Restaurant. A unique dining experience awaits as you eat inside actual farming silos!
