A 23-foot Civil War Monument was erected in 1869 honoring all who were lost during the war. In 2009, a winter storm destroyed the original. A new bronze statue was erected in the spring of 2011 and was dedicated on April 9, 2011. Veterans of other wars are honored with tablets in the lower halls of the courthouse.
