The Illinois lands have some of the richest soil in the world. Logan County is no exception to this. As you drive through the county you will see fields of harvests for miles. However, parts of the land are original prairie, covered in lush trees, plants, and flowers. The scene of what would have been in the days of the Indians and settlers. It is the reason why they all chose to settle here.
As you travel through the county, take some time to explore the luscious outdoors. Maybe have a picnic in a park, walk in the shoes of a botanist at Creekside Environmental Center, or take a drive through the scenic Historic Elkhart Hill.
